Peel District School Board (PDSB)

As one of the country’s top school boards, the Peel District SB has 257 schools, with 217 Elementary schools and 42 Secondary Schools. Peel District School Board is where the world comes to learn, as we have students that have over 120 different languages as the first language learned at home and about the same number who tell is that it is still the main language spoken in their homes. This provides our students with a unique learning experience where they can learn in a multi-cultural environment that will prepare them to be interculturally aware and effective global citizens. Our Peel Schools for International Student Program welcomes students from all over the world. The PDSB’s mission is to inspire success, confidence and hope in each student. We want to ensure we help each student succeed in learning at every stage of life. IN PDSB, students in grades 7 to 12 tailor are able to their education to their individual strengths, goals and interests. Part of this strategy involves small class sizes so students can continue to get the attention they need to succeed. In our schools, you will have every opportunity to improve your use of English. Canada is recognized around the globe as a leader in ESL education. Students will be integrated with Canadian students and will take classes with Canadian students. This allows international students to practise their spoken and written English on a daily basis. They will also spend a portion of their day with other international students and a teacher trained to help international students learn academic-level English. In the PDSB we believe in educating and supporting the whole student to ensure inclusion and success for all. From our World of Wow Orientation, school clubs and groups, dedicated Department Heads to oversee each site, certified and professional Settlement Workers, to world-class Teachers and Guidance Counsellors we ensure the whole student is supported. We would be glad to have you study in peel; it is after all where the world comes to learn!
