Welcome to the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) located in the capital of Canada. Vibrant and colourful, Ottawa is the 6th largest city in Canada with a population of just over 1 million people. Ottawa celebrates its diversity and with its welcoming attitude is a safe, family oriented city with many indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy in all four seasons.
The OCDSB has been welcoming international students to Canada’s capital for the last 20 years. Engaging students in global learning at 147 schools in urban, suburban, and rural settings, the OCDSB provides a diverse and dynamic learning community and a rich variety of educational, cultural, athletic, and social opportunities. Our international student alumni have distinguished themselves at colleges and universities throughout the world.
Whether here to graduate or for a short-term experience, OCDSB international students benefit from being part of an international education program that prioritizes their well-being, their academic advancement, and their personal growth. Integration with Canadian students is embedded into our programs and is recognized in our unique International Certificate Program (ICP). International students can also choose to participate in Intensive English classes to upgrade their academic English or in a summer English Experience camp of two to six weeks that offers students an opportunity to experience life in Ottawa, improve their English and have fun.
The OCDSB works closely with Canada Homestay Network (CHN), Canada’s most trustworthy homestay provider, to provide students with safe, caring, and enriching homestay experiences. We look forward to welcoming more students from around the world to our schools and to Ottawa each year. For detailed information, please visit us at https://studyottawa.ocdsb.ca/.
